Fengchia Night Market is an absolute must-visit in Taichung! This place easily earns a full 5 stars. One of the largest and most vibrant night markets in Taiwan, it’s packed with hundreds of food stalls offering everything from classic Taiwanese snacks to creative street eats. The energy is infectious — bright lights, lively crowds, and the irresistible smell of food everywhere. Highlights for me included the famous big sausage wrapped in small sausage (大腸包小腸) — juicy and perfectly grilled. The crispy scallion pancakes, stinky tofu, grilled seafood, and giant fried chicken were all fantastic. There are also sweet treats like sweet potato balls and fresh papaya milk to finish off the night. It’s not just the food — you can shop for clothes, accessories, and souvenirs at great prices while wandering through the bustling lanes. Even though it gets crowded (especially on weekends), the atmosphere is part of the fun and totally worth it. If you’re in Taichung, Fengchia Night Market is a must for anyone who loves street food and lively local vibes. I had an amazing time and would definitely go back!

Fengjia Night Market in Taichung is definitely one of the most famous spots! It’s super vibrant, with tons of fashion stores, so it’s a great place for shopping. As a vegetarian, I did find the food options a bit limited. I tried the fried mushroom and corn, which were tasty, but overall, there weren’t many vegetarian choices. Still, it’s a fun place to visit, and I’d recommend it for the atmosphere and the fashion scene!

I almost preferred Fengchia to Roahe due to the variety of items and the other food/shops surrounding the area. It was busy when we arrived, 7pm, but we were still able to move through any lines quickly. A great mix of food, games, toys and clothing. We had the sweet potato balls, black pepper buns and grapefruit tea…all very wonderful. Large crowds, but still plenty of room to explore as well as additional shops outside of the market. If you drive, parking might be a problem. We suggest parking a little ways away and just walking. Our hotel was 25min away and the walk was pleasant.

The amount and variety of food is beyond imagination there is like 20 types of takoyaky. We had octopus, Grilled duck roll and then some good lookoing vermiceli noodles with pork bacon, so delicious we wanted to try some more but we would blow up 😅. So then pachinko time and today I was more than lucky started with 250 tickets at first and then finished with 800 tickets from one coin 😀 Then finished with toy shops and bought some Luffy statue from COLAPSE Toys

The best night market in Taichung. There is a very wide selection of food options. We have fun playing and we win a lot of stuffed toys. We finished the tour by eating the corn dog ❤️ We’ll be back again soon ❤️
